Research

Research is accomplished within the scope of five Education and Research Units (ERUs) identifying the thematic foci and overarching strategic priorities where CCES concentrates its efforts on. Thematic research programs, experimental facilities and Downloadtest areas (PNG, 2.2 MB) are established within the ERUs, with the goal of fostering world-class research bringing together the expertise of the CCES institutions. These activities involve several institutes and professorships, in order to reach the required critical mass in the identified themes. Each ERU includes several large-scale collaborative research projects identifying research themes of high relevance for sustainability and high scientific excellence. CCES funds projects of scale and scope which cannot normally be tackled using existing funding sources.

There is a need to coordinate, integrate, and improve the methodological tools and specialized equipment. The Research Platforms external pageSwiss Experiment/OSPER bring together field measurements with cyber-infrastructure and have expanded its integrative role for CCES.
